Content Creation

As a blogger, website owner or content manager you know how to write an article that can move the needle. But doing it day in and day out to keep up with the competition is very hard.

New content is always needed to drive traffic to your website. In fact, 60% of marketers create at least one piece of content each day,

Yet, this either takes an extraordinary amount of your time or it costs a great deal of money to outsource.

But, what if I told you that content creation is about to be disrupted in a massive way?

What if I told you that you’ll be able to write full blown 1,000+ word articles on any topic in a third of the time it takes you now without having to outsource?

The first AI writing assistants are starting to make waves in the market and for good reason, since they can write in a way that is indistinguishable from human writers (read my Jasper review here and my Rytr review here).

In this post you’re going to learn how to write an article from scratch using the help of AI.

Key Takeaways

  • AI-based writing takes advantage of deep learning techniques to automatically generate human-like content for blogs, websites, or any other form of digital media.
  • Before you can put an AI writing assistant to work for you, you need to provide it with some initial guidance about your topic and what your article is about.
  • However, like all software tools, AI writing assistants come with their own set of strengths and weaknesses, so you need to be aware of their limitations before adding them to your content creation workflow.

What Is AI-Based Writing And How Does It Work?

AI-based writing takes advantage of deep learning techniques to automatically generate human-like content for blogs, websites, or any other form of textual digital media.

These tools make use of neural networks and natural language processing to “learn” how to write through rapid iterative learning.

In essence, AI programmers train these machines by reading tens of millions of web pages are created by human writers so they can understand how words work together.

Then, they figure out the best way to create coherent sentences. These sentences can be applied to anything, from Facebook ad headlines to Google ad descriptions, Amazon product descriptions, email campaigns, and a even writing fiction!

How To Write an Article Using AI Tools

Before you can put an AI writing assistant to work for you, you need to provide it with some initial guidance about your topic and what your article is about.

This is no different than dealing with a human writing assistant. You need to provide your AI software with clear instructions so it can generate the pieces that will make up your article, in other words:

  1. A title
  2. An introductory paragraph
  3. Your post’s general outline
  4. The content for your outline
  5. The conclusion

Next, you need to indicate the tone of voice you'd like your article to have (e.g. informal, helpful, witty, etc.) and finally push a button to generate your content.

Once your AI writing assistant is done creating the content, all you have to do is to polish it a bit and presto, your work is done in a third of the time!

Pros And Cons of Using AI as a Writer

pros-and-cons

Like all software tools, AI writing assistants come with their own set of pros and cons, so you need to be aware of their limitations.

Pros:

  • Ability to generate human-like writing quality, free of typos and grammar errors
  • Writing speed measured in minutes instead of hours
  • Ability to come up with angles you never thought about
  • Ability to quickly come up with original ideas, outlines, clever headings, and more
  • Ability to write excellent marketing copy

Cons:

  • They can’t read minds (read: garbage in/garbage out). The quality of the output depends on the thoroughness of your input
  • They can’t be relied upon for accurate facts (i.e. facts and figures should be considered placeholders to be replaced by a human writer)
  • They have no expertise in any particular subject!

This last point is very important: these tools are trained to work by stitching sentences that work well together.

However, they are clueless about the subject matter itself, so they need your expertise to make the required adjustments to the text so it’s credible.

So, never use an AI writing assistant to create and publish content in an area where you have no expertise. You won’t have the knowledge to make the necessary corrections and the content will make you sound like a rookie.

These tools are not meant to replace writers, just to assist them with the tedious parts of content generation.

With that said, let’s now move on to the fun part — creating an entire article from scratch using AI!

Example: How the Write an Article With The Help of an AI Writing Assistant

For this example, I’ll be using the leading tool on the market, Jarvis.ai (it also happens to be the tool I used to generate the introduction, outline and conclusion for this article.)

The first step is to provide the AI writing assistant with initial guidance for the article you want to create. This is in the form of a short paragraph, like the one below:

“This is a blog post about how to do on-page SEO. It should talk about the importance of on-page SEO for search ranking, the elements of on-page SEO and the best industry practices.”

Let’s now enter this text in Jarvis, along with our keyword: “on-page SEO”

New-post-instructions

Article title

After hitting Continue, Jarvis is going to move on to Step 2 and come up with suggested titles for this blog post:

title-choices

Article introduction

Great, now I’m going to choose a title (10 Brilliant Ways) and move on to Step 3, where Jarvis is going to generate an introduction paragraph for the post:

intro-paragraph-blank

After letting Jarvis generate different versions of the intro paragraph, I ended up settling on this one:

intro-paragraph-blank

Pretty cool, right? Not 100% perfect, but a heck of a lot better than staring at a blank page trying to think what to write!

Article outline

Now I’m going to use the outlining feature in Jarvis to generate the blog post outline. All it requires the post’s title as the input:

blog-post-outline

Now, you might not get exactly 10 points as specified in the title, and not all points might be usable, but when you run this feature multiple times, all you have to do is select the 10 choices that make the most sense for your article.

In this case I selected the following 10 choices out of 30 that I felt were the best suited based on my SEO experience.

Here’s my list, after making some minor tweaks:

  1. 1
Include your keyword in the title of your blog post
  2. 2
Create a meta description that entices people to click
  3. 3
Include your keyword in the meta description
  4. 4
Write an introduction that includes your keyword and a quick summary of what you will be talking about
  5. 5
Use a variety of headings and subheadings to break up content and make it easier for readers to skim content
  6. 6
Use bold text for important words
  7. 7
Add internal links to other articles on your blog
  8. 8
Use images in your blog posts — they're good for SEO and make it easier for readers to understand what you are talking about
  9. 9
Make sure you have an XML site map for the Google Search Console
  10. 10
Update old posts with new, relevant information

Not bad. Next, we’re going to use Jarvis to come up with the starter text for each one of the points above by placing the cursor below each bullet point and hitting the blue Compose button:

finished-product

Article conclusion

Finally, it’s time to close things off with a conclusion. For this purpose we’re going to use the paragraph conclusion feature in Jarvis, which requires a brief summary of points in the article:

conclusion

There you have it!

With the help of an AI writing assistant we’ve been able to go from a blank page to the fully fleshed out structure of a 1000+ word blog post in about 10 minutes flat. Now all you have to do is to add some meat to the bones and bring it to a close by investing no more than an hour.

10 Brilliant Ways to Optimize Your On-Page SEO

We live in a digital world. Search engines are the gatekeepers of this world, and on-page SEO is one way to get on their good side. In order to rank on Google's first page, you need on-page SEO that includes keywords and keyword density as well as links from reputable websites.

In this blog post, we will discuss 10 brilliant ways to optimize your on-page SEO for search ranking!

What Are the 10 Ways to Optimize On-Page SEO?

1. Include your keyword in the title of your blog post

This is the number one on-page SEO tip. Google looks for keywords in your title and meta description to determine what your article will be about.

2. Create a meta description that entices people to click

The meta description tag is what people see on the SERP that tells them what your article is about. Make sure you write a compelling meta description to increase your CTR.

3. Include your keyword in the meta description

Once you have written your meta description, it's important to include the keyword you are targeting on the page.

4. Write an introduction that includes your keyword and a quick summary of what you will be talking about

Your blog post introduction should include a quick summary of what you will be talking about on the page. It should also have your keyword included, as it is important for on-page SEO and to make sure people know what your article is going to be about.

5. Use a variety of headings and subheadings to break up content and make it easier for readers to skim content

Headings are important for on-page SEO because they break up your content on the page and make it easier for Google to understand it. They help break your article into logical sections, helping people navigate through the page.

6. Use bold text for important words

Google uses bolding to get a sense of how important a word on the page is. So if you use bold on important words, especially words that are part of your keyword, they will help with your on-page SEO.

7.  Add internal links to other articles on your blog

When you add internal links to your on-page SEO, you are helping your site visitors get more context by giving them more information on the topic they are reading about. It's also a best practice.

8. Use images in your blog posts - they're good for SEO and make it easier for readers to understand what you are talking about.

If you want to make your on-page SEO more effective, use images. They can help get a message across quickly and easily. They’ll also improve on your on-page SEO if you incorporate words from your keyword in the image titles, alt text, and image URLs.

9. Make sure you have an XML site map for the Google Search Console

An XML sitemap is a list of pages on your website that tells search engines what should be crawled and indexed. In other words, it's a way for you to tell the Google crawler which pages on your website you want to be indexed.

10. Update old posts with new, relevant information

Finally, a great on-page SEO tip is to ensure the old posts on your blog are regularly updated with new information. Google favors up-to-date content and will reward it by bumping you up on the search rankings for relevant keywords.

Conclusion

Today you learned all about on-page SEO.

To recap, this means optimizing your metadata and placing your target keyword strategically in headings and throughout the body of the post to rank high on Google search results pages (SERPS).
